Wilkes Row is a series of six townhomes in Old Town, Alexandria featuring 3 bedroom layouts spread over 4 levels. Blending with the surrounding residential neighborhood, the project incorporated landscaped front, side, and rear yards with separate access to basement guest suites, and separate carriage house garages. Requiring BAR approval, the design of the proposed townhomes relate to the historic character of the district and the mass, scale, style, and materials of nearby residences. The group incorporates a variety of roof lines, including corner towers, mansard roofs and rear terraces on the top floor. Each townhouse is traditional in character, providing architectural detailing and high quality materials that exhibit the richness and variety found within the historic district. The project was awarded Earthcraft Certification.
