The Crossvines is a complex and modern commercial undertaking conceptualized by Montgomery County Revenue Authority, in conjunction with Weller Development, to “create economic opportunities and investment in the agricultural tourism, event services, and wine-making industry sectors of Montgomery County.” Rust Orling’s design evokes the feel of humble historic farmhouses and barns common to the area in which this 388-acre property is situated, at the edge of Poolesville Golf Course within scenic Montgomery County Agriculture Reserve. This multi-building facility incorporates a cozy, intimate restaurant with integral bar, expansive banquet hall, courtyard, and a separate industrial structure will house a state-of-the-art crush facility, with a large fermentation room, barrel room and storage. The abundant outdoor spaces weave between the structures creating a continuous additional communal area for visitors and guests to appreciate not just the incredible views, but all the development has to offer.
