Carr Workplaces Georgetown

Washington, DC

Project Details:

Located adjacent to the C&O Canal in Georgetown, this boutique executive office suite occupies both floors of the historic Duvall Foundry and a portion of the modern office building addition. Rust|Orling redesigned the common areas and 2nd floor offices to incorporate updates to the conference rooms, a new community café, and reconfigured open office space to add 12 co-working stations and 2 enclosed offices. The design took inspiration from the existing exposed brick walls and heavy-timber structure. In addition to the interior design, Rust|Orling was also responsible for furniture specification and artwork selection. To address the Client's changing business needs, in 2019 Rust|Orling revisited the project to reconfigure the 2nd floor space to add another 2 private offices while maintaining the 12 co-working stations. We made our latest contribution in 2020 when we selected and procured new outdoor furniture to enhance the enjoyment of the 2nd floor terrace.
